Schuck acquired 342 acres, immediately east of the United States Air Force Academy and I-25, from Ford Motor Company renaming it InterQuest.

Key to its ultimate development and sale was the privately funded construction of a new interchange with I-25, made possible by the creation of an unprecedented collaboration between several government jurisdictions and the land owners, a model which government officials continue to cite as an example of a win-win private/public partnership.
